To Alan, and others who have served in the engine room on steamboats. What was the average steam pressure required on the steamboats of old. Also, what was the pressure used on the high pressure systems of later years? I have an old vintage steam gauge that I found in my Dad,s colection of things, from his days as a steam fitter at Howards, back in the 20's & 30,'S. It is marked with a maximum 300 PSI.
