Alan and I first met in Aug. 1961, although we had corresponded prior to that. Even though we would only see each other once or twice a year we became good friends. We have swaped overnight visits and shared many other steamboatin' activites over the years. Alan, Sharon and I want you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you, Rita and your family. You have been a great friend and mentor to me as well as to many, many others.
