The Rambling River Rats, which is not an organized group but merely a bunch of displaced steamboat passengers, will be riding a steamboat again next July 18-22! JoAnn Schoen has energized her Withers Family to cruise aboard the AMERICAN QUEEN from Pittsburgh to Cincinnati and is inviting the RRR to enlarge the group. There is a full day of cruising followed by shore stops in Point Pleasant and Maysville. While the Mothman legend is mentioned by the AQ brochure, of more interest in Point Pleasant to river people would be the wonderful river museum established several years ago by Capt. Charles Henry Stone and other local rivermen. Virginia Bennett has donated items also. Maysville is the hometown of Rosemary Clooney and her brother Nick. This trip has a Music of the 60s theme in addition to the usual steamboat musical fare. If you'd be interested in joining the RRR on the Upper Ohio, please contact JoAnn through the .org message system, or me at
