Default I read it in the Enquirer

As I was glancing through the obituaries on Cincinnati.com, this little quote warmed my heart:

"When Mrs. Schaefer was in her 90s, Grothaus took his aunt on board the Delta Queen; she sat down and played the calliope, a steam-operated organ, on board.

"The boat was ready to leave and she was still playing," he said. "You couldn't get her to quit once she started."

Mrs. Schaefer played so well that day that she was given a license to play on more than 30 rivers and the Panama Canal, Grothaus said, though she never got the chance to use it."

I don't remember Mrs. Schaefer, but I would love to have been there for her calliope caper - does anyone recall her? Here is the link to her entire obit:

Mrs. Ruthie Schaefer
