I just read this story about the flooding in Paducah, KY. For al you steamboaters out there, you surely remember the beautiful town 47 miles up the Ohio from the Mississippi on the LBD. They are doing well, from the wording of the article. But, things are pretty scary around there. This weather we are having around here is not helping. Over 2" of rain in the last 24-hours...headed into the flooded zone. If the DQ were running, the BELLE race would have to be scrubbed, none of the boats would have made it to the Derby, I doubt they would be running at all.
