Yes, I do know why he was down South. In 1971, we had some drydock problems up here in Lake George. Paul Crandall, the man who designed our drydock, told Dad that he was holding classes on drydock upkeep in Mobile during the spring of 1972. Dad came down for that and instead of turning into the airport to go home, he kept going straight and ended up in New Orleans.
