I was at Christmas at the Fort at Old Ft. Parker this weekend and ran into Jennifer Lemmon. Had on her elk skin dress, braids and all the right regalia. Helping run the show. Jennifer, it was good to have a chance to sit and talk steamboat and gossip. Shame there weren't other Texas area steamboaters there. I had no idea we had some acquantainces in common. I'm trying to think of a way to work a presentation on steamboating in Texas history into the event next year. It would be wonderful if I had a steamboat model to draw people, but that probably won't happen, at least next year. I'll put some thought into it. Some good river stories would fit right in with that bunch.
