Delta Queen Southbound For Helena
Greetings From New Orleans ,
I just received a call from my long time friend and Pilot , Capt. Finley Frasier , and he tells me that the Str. Delta Queen is presently south bound for Helena , Arkansas . She is following the Str. American Queen and both will be landing in Helena today for their planned shore excursions and that the American Queen is now serving as a hotel for the Delta Queen's overnight passengers . Capt. Finley also tells me that all the non-essential crew and hotel staff has now left the DQ and that only the Navigation / Deck and Engineering Dept.'s are still manning the boat . Also , it is still uncertain as to where the DQ will be stowed and placed in " moth balls " but I would imagine she'l temporarily go back alongside the MQ until a more permanent mooring facility can be acquired . Time will tell !
