Default What would " THEY " be doing now ???

Greetings From New Orleans ,
One of mine , and for that matter I am sure one of many's , favorite all time books and authors is of course , The Adventures of Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn , by Mark Twain . For the last few weeks I have actually taken off work , gone on a Carribbean cruise and of course re-read this all time favorite . Upon completion of the book while sitting on a beach in Ste. Martin the thought came to me , what would " They " , the main characters of this book be doing now in the present ? These are my thoughts on the matter and I am sure that those of you that also ponder this question may of course come up with your own conclusions . First of all , I believe that Tom Sawyer completed his education , became a river pilot , gone through a few wives and established for himself somewhat of a " normal " life as may be thought of by those of us that actually work on the river . As for Huck , I think that he would have remained single , been in and out of trouble with the law and became somewhat of a recluse only to support himself by hunting and fishing or maybe becoming a professional hunting guide . Jim , would in all likelyhood would have become a civil rights activist and would have championed the rights of the poor and indigent . As far as Becky Thantcher goes , I believe she would have married , had 2.5 children , gone into the teaching profession and would have entered into her home town church or civic organizations . Take this notion one step futher and imagine whom would have stayed in touch with the others and for that matter what it would have been like to be present at their reunions and whom would have looked down their nose at whom ? These are my thoughts on the matter , what are yours ??
Smoothe Sailing !
