YWB-1041, the SUN*FISH, formerly the NEW DAY, was launched at the Rabbit Hash Shipyard, Tennessee River Division on a rainy Friday, 4 April 2008, after several months on the ways.
The FISH was built in 1977 for the Wisconsin Light & Power Co. plant at Genoa, WS, and towed coal,
around the clock ,for years, until it was laid-up when the power plant was converted from coal to nukes. The fellow that we bought the boat from saw the stoutly-built workboat lain-up on blocks and bought her. He converted the vessel into a
live-aboard, and was at Starved Rock on the Illinois River for fourteen years and even sailed her into Chicago before eventually ending up on the Tennessee River at Decatur, Alabama where, after any years of searching, we found the ideal Yard Work Boat (YWB) for the Rabbit Hash Shipyard.
