Doc's speech less than 2 weeks away
This is a final reminder that Capt. Doc Hawley will venture up here to the cold snowy miserable Midwest from his comfortable French Quarter confines on Feb. 22. He will be the featured speaker at the annual Henry Farnam dinner, an event put on by a coalition of community groups. To reserve a dinner/speech ticket, see: http://www.riveraction.org/nuke73/mo...article&sid=43. I will be having an open house that afternoon from noon to 4 for anyone interested in looking through some steamboat stuff and visiting with other river people. At this time I have no idea who, or how many, will be attending. Please, if you are coming to Rock Island and the MUMR museum, please email me of your intentions, so I can have enough libations and snacks available - and no, Pat Traynor will NOT be allowed to mix the Planters Punch this time - we need to be awake for the evening's festivities. Hope to see some .org people on the 22nd. Let me know if you are coming: wzc8491@aol.com
