Mardi Gras World and the Creole Queen
http://blog.nola.com/tpmoney/2008/01...s_expansi.html
In today's newspaper story, the previously-mentioned move of part of Blaine Kern's Mardi Gras World is told in greater depth. Not only will it be using the Robin St. Wharf, but also the River City Casino complex just upriver at the Celeste/Orange St. wharf. They had built a huge indoor complex for the gambling boats, including a plantation home, in this area. How much is still in place, I know not. But it is a huge building compared to the DQ's Robin St. area. And this article points out that the Creole Queen will be operating trips from this complex. It will be interesting to see if she shuttles pax to the Westbank World or does a regular excursion. She has been laid up for the most part at Canal St. since Katrina, only doing an occasional charter or daytrip. Her sister boat, the Cajun Queen, was sold to out of town interests.
