Steamboating colleagues:
Tomorrow, October 12, 2007, will mark Capn' Bill & Darlene Judd's big 50th Wedding Anniversary. Again, I ask, has it been that long? I first met the Judds now almost that long ago at meetings of the STEAMSHIP HISTORICAL SOCIETY OF AMERICA here at the Cincinnati Public Library. The name of the club was a cover...it was really a mini-S&D meeting on steamboats and the river. Bill's work with his JUDD MARINE, in addition to interest in political matters here, goes without saying along with serving as Chairman, Board of Governors, S&D of Pioneer Rivermen. Darlene still purses her own career and qualified as a pro on blowing the whistle from the Str. QUEEN CITY at a past Marietta meeting. Both have 'been there, done that'...and continue to do so.
That anniversary reception should be one wild affair. CONGRATULATIONS!
