I regularly receive requests in my email from two companies that do market research surveys. Tonight I got one about cruises. I was surprised to find Majestic America Line on the list of cruise lines and frankly, it was the only one of the companies listed on which we've cruised. (I prefer not to even go aboard those glitzy cruise ships that look like a half melted bar of soap.)

They wanted input on accomodations, schedules, food, service, ticketing, shore excursions, etc. In the box where I could comment I wrote, "I only cruise on real steamboats". Whomever reads that will probably think I'm some kind of a nut but I freely admit to that.

Also today, I received an Email from Majestic America Line offering fall 2007 AQ cruises from $775 but when I clicked on the link to their web site, the lowest fare I saw was $895 for 5 nights. Did I miss something there?

My reply to the Email was simple: SAVE THE DELTA QUEEN in heavy bold 48 point type. It won't save the boat but at least somebody at Majestic America Line will know how I feel.
