Thanks to all my river friends for your kind and thoughtful birthday greetings. Yes, sixty years have seen a lot of good times and wonderful memories made on the rivers and steamboats of this country, and I am truly blessed to have shared these adventures and memories with so many of you! This morning I received another special treat of a birthday calliope serenade live from the roof of the NATCHEZ through the courtesy of Judy Patsch manning her cellphone and Capt. Doc Hawley manning the keyboard! Technology is amazing! Just one more of those priceless memories that bind the steamboating family together. Hope to see some of my river friends again in the months ahead. Again, thanks for your warm wishes!
