A Bad Day At The Office !!
Greetings From New Orleans !
When River Pilots between New Orleans and Baton Rouge have a a " bad day at the office " , in all likelyhood something either sank , got ran over or was ran over . In this case a South Bound ship , lost its engine in the vicinity of St. Rose Point ( mile 118 ahp ) and came down " dead stick " and then unfortunately T-Boned an anchored ship in the Kenner Bend Anchorage ( mile114 ahp ) . The good new was that there were no casualities and to the best of my knowledge there were no minor injuries as well . The bad news is that when ever there is an accident or mishap of any kind the powers that be , either the local politicians or the coast guard usually have a knee jerk reaction and attempt to impose new rules and regulations that effect us all . Regardless , this is what a bad day for River Pilots on the Lower Mississippi River looks like .
Smoothe Sailing ,
