Finally, NOLA bound!
Well, the tropical depression off the west coast of Florida and I seem to be converging on the Crescent City within days of each other...typical for what has been going on for me. I've been relatively absent from the board because I've been dealing with a friend's crisis - need for assisted living with no money. Amazingly, we put her house on the market Monday and sold it yesterday! So that's one less care as I head south today. This is a big visit to NOLA for me, as I get to reclaim my apartment. The people who had been living in it finally moved into their house in Chalmette last month, even though it wasn't completely done - they said "Close enough". So this will be the first time since April '05 that I've stayed in my apartment in the Beauregard-Keyes House in the FQ. The NATCHEZ will be running 3 trips each day I'm there, so that's basically where I'll be. I'll do the usual driving around town in the AM before going over to the boat, and hopefully I'll be able to report more progress than I saw in my last visit in April. So here's hoping for a storm-free 4 day visit, with streets and boats filled with tourists!
