Last Friday I watched her for a bit. I didn't have binoculars but you can see her pretty good from across the river.
I didn't see any activity on any of the outside areas of the MQ in the 10 minutes or so I was watching. Granted the "outside areas" are a bit few and far between, but I really expected to see some activity, construction lights, trucks parked near at Perry Street, anything.
But, no...she looked quite silent...
If you look at the latest Majestic mailing (I won't call it a brochure, very confusing) you can see the "blank" spaces where the cabins are removed. I don't know if their website shows the new deckplans yet.
As an edit, I just checked the website and it does not show the changes to the MQ, unlike what the mailing shows. Comparing the two is quite interesting. Basically they are proposing three big changes, all on the Texas. Rooms 307, 308, 311, 312, 319, 320, 323 and 324 are now much bigger "AA" rooms, via the rooms absorbing smaller inside rooms into their square footage. All staterooms on the outside with verandas on the Texas have been made twice as big by taking out the wall between two rooms, and are now "BB's". The other big change is all of the "J" and "K" inside staterooms and the two outside "F" rooms on the Texas deck are all gone, with a big empty shown in the mailing. Will this be the infamous spa, fitness center and internet cafe, and no, I didn't make that up, that's what the mailing hints at, though the deck plans have not labled the "empty" (I'll give anybody that knows me a laugh, can you picture me in a "Spa and fitness center"?).
The mailing also indicates the capacity of the boat has dropped to 164 staterooms, 328 people. Hope this works for them...I think they are nuts, make the boat MORE expensive to cruise, yeah, that ought to make the phones just ring off the hook...
