Hi everyone........I'm new here. I've been reading the posts for the past few days. The news that 2008 is the last year for the DQ has finally gotten my mom and I in gear to take a cruise. We've wanted to for years.

Actually, my mom rode the DQ when she was a baby in the 1930's when it ran between Sacramento and San Francisco. We lived in Marietta, Ohio, in the late 1970's and got to go on board once when it stopped there. I remember it was overcast and raining lightly......we sat on the front porch for a while.......I loved it!

We've tentatively picked the cruise -- May 5 to May 10, Cincinnati to Pittsburg, stop in Marietta, of course!

We need advice from all you experienced DQ travellers on the cabins. We don't know which one to get. We're looking at the D, E and F cabins. The pictures on the Majestic America Line website are really no help -- too small! The Orbitz website actually had better ones. Anyway, these three cabins all seem to have 2 beds and a bath and just vary in size......is there enough difference between them to warrant paying extra for the slightly bigger cabins? I don't imagine we'll be spending that much time there, anyway, right?

Also, what is this picnic that I've been reading about? :)

I'll have more questions later, I'm sure. Thanks for any advice you can give!
