Default BELLE OF LOUISVILLE - Packet Boat Run cruise this Saturday!

....Hear ye, hear ye!

Special Steamboating Adventure on May 26th 2007!

For all you steamboating fans, May 26, 2007 will be a special day on the Str. BELLE OF LOUISVILLE! It’s the traditional opening day for the BELLE's summer season, and we’ll be kicking it off with a Packet Boat Run to Carrie Gaulbert Cox Park in Louisville.

While she’s at Cox Park, she’ll take a short 45-minute cruise as part of the festival’s events. Those that board at Louisville can either stay on the boat or join the on-land activities. When the short cruise is over, the boat will return to the Louisville waterfront.

If you were on for our first Packet Boat Run in May, 2006, don’t hesitate to come on again in 2007. There will be new exhibitors and performers at the festival, too. This year a buffet lunch will be available as an option on the round trip from Louisville aboard the BELLE. Advance reservations are required for the lunch.

I will be aboard as narrator on the upbound portion of the cruise, Calliope Player at Cox's Park, and presenting a informal talk on Steamboats and Jazz Music with some great samples of the music on the downbound portion of the cruise after the park landing.

Come spend the afternoon with great steamboating friends as we cruise on one of the finest river steamboats on the majestic Ohio River!

Boarding begins at 11:00 am, cruising is from Noon – 3:00 pm (or thereabouts). Tickets are: With the buffet - $25 adults, $24 seniors (ages 60+), and $15 children (ages 3 – 12). Sightseeing only (no buffet) - $15 adults, $14 seniors, $6 children. Call (502) 574-2992 or (toll free) 866-832-0011 for information and to make a reservation.
