Fourth of July in Cincinnati

So, we decided to arrive a day early. We arrive in Cincinnati at lunch time on the fourth of July. We have a hotel room on the KY side of the river. I have a few ideas for what to do that afternoon and evening. But I am open to suggestions.

The showboat Majestic is dark that day. What do you suggest for activities, and transportation?
