Yes, that is sad news. NOLA is in a Catch-22 situation. The perception is that there is nothing to do there, so people don't book to go there. This of course means there aren't people to experience all the things that are available and to refute the negative perceptions. What I haven't heard of lately is Carnival's CONQUEST, which was homeported in NOLA when she came out and was the largest cruise ship until the QM2 came out. She had trouble clearing power lines in high water, so the energy company, dock board, and other entities spent several million to bury cables to replace the high wires. So now the thanks they get is no ship...
