Southern Belle Riverboat

The SOUTHERN BELLE was designed by noted marine architect Captain Alan L. Bates and built at the Serodino Boat Yards in Guild, Tennessee, which is about 25 miles downriver from Chattanooga.

The Southern Belle was first to be built but there were three vessels built in a row. The River Queen which is owned by BB Riverboats in Covington, Kentucky, and The Henrietta III in Wilmington, North Carolina. The Henrietta III was originally the EMPRESS but was chopped in half, lengthened by 50 feet, and converted to a Casino Boat for a while before being relocated to the Cape Fear River in North Carolina and returning to sightseeing and dinner cruises. The Southern Belle has been in Chattanooga since her launch in 1985 and now has a large ex-casino barge as her dock. The boat is equipped with an air operated calliope.
