First, there are nine steamboats named America in Way Directory. I found the name Henry McClanahan with the vessel numbered 0241 in Way's Directory. The bio indicated that the America was an excursion boat operating in Louisville, but it does not mention The River Excursion Co.

The America (0241) was a side wheel packet built in 1917 by Howard boatyard in Jeffersonville, IN. The America went up in flames on 8 Sep 1930. Arson was suspected, but never proven.
