This year marks the 150th Anniversary of America's Civil War. The States, as we know, were divided on economic, political and civil issues which also led, 100 years later, to another event of civil unrest -the Civil Rights Movement.

Model Steamboat Plans -Rex Stewart

Since joining this forum, which I'm delighted to be part of, I've been recently receiving requests for plans concerning my models. Unfortunately, because one of my models NANTUCKET was duplicated by a model company from my original concepts (and marketed), I have since ceased this practice.

ROBERT FULTON- Hudson River Day Line Model

There have been many articles written about the famous Hudson River steamboats, inparticular, the Day Line.

I wish to share these views of stmr. ROBERT FULTON, both in photos and model. She's shown as she appeared in c.1925. However, when the steamboat NEW YORK was destroyed by fire in 1908, officials from the Day Line quickly assembled and put into action plans to build a new state of the art steamboat to serve as running mate to the HENDRICK HUDSON....

Hello All:

I've been following steamboat history for well over thirty years and have enjoyed all aspects of this genre, including model-building of the vintage sidewheelers that operated in and around New York and New England, USA.

I have had the opportunity to meet some of the veterans of the field, including former steamboat owners, their families and shared in many exhibits concerning these vessels.
