The Pennsylvania House of Representatives yesterday has declared October 4, 2008, as "Delta Queen Day" in Pennsylvania to "honor this unique and quintessentially American treasure". This House Resolution also recognizes the historic and business value of the Delta Queen for Pennsylvania communities along the rivers.
At the same time Senators from Pennsylvania, Arlen Specter and Robert P. Casey, jr., still haven't joined the long list of co-sponsors for the bill S. 3498 in the US Senate to renew the Delta Queen's exemption from the Safety at Sea Law.
