In a word, the new hull is UGLY. It may be purposeful, but I think it has hampered handling and reduced wheel power. IMHO, the wheel is too deep in the water now. And while some argue that the droop doesn't exist, just one look inside the Betty Blake lounge rear area shows the droop--none of the doors and paneling line up anymore. This is one situation where the wood superstructure has enough flexibilty to adapt to the change, where as steel would have buckled. Again, IMHO, I'm not an structural engineer, just someone with lots of experience around old wood structures.
