Default The SPIRIT OF AMERICA

That huge imitation sidewheeler was the SPIRIT OF AMERICA. A truly elegant imitation that gave an idea of what the J.M. WHITE and other cotton queens must have looked like. What a shame the SoA did not work out for the Bernsteins. It was an awesome boat that I loved being aboard. The SPIRIT OF AMERICA ended up at Argosy Casino in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, about 35 miles downstream from where it originated in service, as a landing boat for their casino boat until a permanent dock was built. After Argosy finished with the SoA, we heard it went to the Alton, IL area, and there is where my information stops.
