A spokesman for the Asian owner who doesn't speak English(the owner, not the spokesman) recently told a steamboater that the scrapping is on hold temporarily as potential buyers have suddenly come out of the woodwork... I wouldn't get too excited over this, as it probably includes us on here who have talked about saving it... be practical and sensible: if someone with enough money to not only buy her, but to restore her to working order had been interested, they would have bought her before she reached this stage of deterioration. This is only delaying the inevitable...I hope scrap prices don't drop while he awaits a buyer! Of course if this current owner could unload her for a profit, I imagine he would. Then it would fall to the new owner to face the facts.
