Default Live from the levee, rather from the pilothouse

I just had a phone call from Capt. Joy Manthey. She's on a towboat which is passing the mothball anchorage in Beaumont Texas, where both the AMERICAN QUEEN and the RIVER EXPLORER are fleeted. She said the RE is anchored out by itself, but the AQ is in among 3 LASH ships and 6 ships reminiscent of the old LYKES LINE vessels. The MARAD ready reserve ship DIAMOND STATE is directly next to the AQ. That ship was fleeted in NOLA for several years and I recall it being a supply ship, but not a big ro-ro such as the CAPE ships currently in NOLA. Sounds eerily like the Suisun Bay days of long ago....
