My wife and I made the inaugural trip from Norfolk, VA to Philadelphia on the 5th of May, 2001. As with many new vessels, there were problems but the good time we had far outweighed the problems. The biggest problem was that we left Norfolk into the Chesapeake Bay, we lefy in a Nor'easter with a vessel with no stablizers. The food was excellent and the service impeccable. Unfortunately the ship never made it to Philadelphia due to a tug being overun and sunk in the C&D canal. We were bussed from Baltimore to Philadelphia. Captain Chuck Beverly met an unfortunate end when the ship was buttoned-up. He was a fine Captain.
